Golden Web Age GmbH is committed to ensuring that its digital services are accessible to people with disabilities. Golden Web Age GmbH has invested significant resources to ensure access for all users, including people with disabilities. It firmly believes that every person has the right to live with dignity, equality, comfort and independence.
Digital accessibility is not just a goal we aim to achieve, but an ongoing commitment that we pursue in every aspect of our digital service delivery. We recognise that this requires ongoing monitoring, improvement and adaptation. In the following sections, we outline the various measures we have taken to ensure we make progress in delivering digital accessibility for all.
A key element of our accessibility initiative is our collaboration with the independent consultancy UserWay, which is helping us to bring our website into line with current standards. To this end, we use industry-standard accessibility methods and tools in accordance with the latest version of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), the leading international standardisation body for the internet.
As part of our ongoing commitment to improving accessibility and tackling the challenges it presents, we employ developers who are experts in the field of digital accessibility.
Our approach to accessibility encompasses both manual accessibility checks and automated scans.
goldenwebage.de provides the UserWay Website Accessibility Widget, which is hosted on a dedicated accessibility server.
The widget offers user-controlled adjustments that enable visitors to improve the website’s accessibility. When selected, these features increase the font size, pause animations, change the colour contrast and much more. Users can choose combinations that meet their needs in accordance with WCAG Level AAA.
The website features Automated Correction Technology (ART) for all visitors, regardless of whether they use assistive technologies or not. ART does not detect the use of assistive technologies. Rather, it improves accessibility for all website visitors, regardless of their abilities, by providing correction features such as (non-exhaustive list):
- Alternative text is assigned to images and other non-text elements where necessary.
- Keyboard navigation is enhanced by features such as focus indicators and skip links.
