LUMIÈRE DESIGN
A STRONG BRAND.
A CLEAR PURCHASE PROCESS.
Lumière Design sells lights that define a space. When making a decision, therefore, both factors are important: the impression the light makes in the home environment and an understanding of the specific product. Customers want to see how a light looks and, at the same time, be able to assess which design suits their home.
We have redesigned the entire shop for Lumière. Branding and conversion optimisation were our guiding principles throughout the process: the aim was to bring the brand to life through the design, whilst ensuring that the navigation, product presentation and checkout area supported the customer’s decision-making process.
The challenges
When it comes to a light fitting, its effect in a room is just as important as its design. The product display should therefore show it in domestic settings and help visitors to visualise the light fitting in their own homes.
A striking first impression must extend beyond the homepage. Lumière’s brand identity should also be reflected in the collections, product galleries and detailed sections, so that every page type forms part of the same brand identity.
Some visitors already know the type of light fitting they want, whilst others are looking for lighting for a specific room. Both approaches had to be taken into account in the navigation and linked to the relevant collections.
Interior photography sparks interest; dimensions and features help narrow down the choice. This information should be readily available and complement the visual impression by providing the details needed to make a decision.
Different versions require a clear selection of options. The product image, available options and price should all be presented in context before a light fitting is added to the shopping basket.
An atmospheric shop also needs a clear next step. Branding and conversion optimisation therefore had to be considered together right from the start – from the initial site survey right through to the product display area.
Our solutions
We developed the complete redesign with two objectives in mind: to bring Lumières’ brand identity to life within the shop and to make it easy for customers to find the right light fitting. Interior photography provides the starting point, whilst navigation by room and light fitting type helps customers find their way around.
On the product page, images, variants and technical details help guide the selection process. The design maintains the link to the brand and ensures the shopping area plays a key role in the decision-making process. In this way, branding and conversion optimisation work together across all key page types.

The result
The result is a completely redesigned shop that combines Lumières’ brand identity with a user experience tailored to the product range. The lights are presented in the context of their effect within a room, whilst collections and product pages help customers make informed purchasing decisions.
This ensures that branding and conversion optimisation are integrated throughout the entire shop: from the first impression of the brand right through to the choice of the right product variant.
